Can you kindly introduce yourself to our readers?

I am Sam Anokam. I work with The Sun Publishing Limited as an editorial staff.

How is it like writing for the Sun Newspapers?

Both interesting and challenging.

Can you please elaborate?

It’s interesting in the sense that you are opportune to meet people from all walks of life. You meet different categories of people, situations, events, places, among others. Challenges: you could be molested, assaulted and even jailed in the course of investigating a story or writing a story.

Please tell us of your journey into journalism.

Journalism is service. I did not really go into journalism from the onset, but I had the opportunity of practicing the profession while waiting to gain admission to further my studies which was totally different from what I studied in the higher institution. In the process, I began to develop interest gradually and before I knew it, I have spent years doing it. I started travelling and meeting people, learning about various sectors of the economy, including politics and entertainment. That is it so far.

Are there stories you wrote but later regretted?

None that I can remember for now, but I don’t think so,

As a seasoned writer, who is best to interview in the entertainment industry and why?

I can’t suggest a particular person, because who could be interesting to you may not be for me. Emeka Enyiocha, Ejike Asiegbu and some others could be reporter’s delight but not to all reporters. Sometimes, some of our actresses, especially the established ones, are difficult to interview because of what most of them see as sensationalization of their interviews. Some would tell you that you are using their faces to sell your paper, but when scandals hit them, you become their friends. So, it depends on who really interests you in terms of what you want from him or her.
