Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is QUEEN OKAFOR. I hail from Oru local government in Imo State. My mother is from Anambra, Onitsha to be precise. I come from a family of 7 and I’m the second to the last. I did my primary education at Adeniyi Jones Primary School Ikeja Lagos and my Secondary education at Oke-Ira Grammar School Ogba Ikeja Lagos. I have my O.N.D in Economics at University of Ibadan, hoping to study further.
As a child, what was your early experience with Nollywood like?
My first experience with Nollywood back in my childhood years was that I find the movies very interesting and whenever I watched them I felt very excited.
How long have you been acting?
I have been in the industry for close to two years now. I have done a lot of movies but these are some that are out now, Swagger Pastor, Who Goes There, Mr and Mrs Ibu, Violent Reward, Before 1960, Princess Ekeoma, The 3widows and many more.
Has Nigerian movie scene changed over the years?
Waoo! It has changed dramatically. Technology has taken its course in Nollywood Industry. For instance, take a look at Nollywood back in the days and now, you will see a great change in terms of packaging, directing, editing, make-up, and so on. I must say we’re really at the apex of the globe.
What do you think your “biggest break” or “greatest opportunity” has been so far?
Well my biggest opportunity so far was being part of a movie called the 3widows. I was opportune to work with so many stars. And my greatest challenge was playing the role of Nneka in the Violent Reward, the movie is in English but in an Igbo setting, and most of the cast were Yorubas, so it was really challenging.
Have you ever had any strange fans or stalkers?
No! None that I know of. I have a very good relationship with my fans.
