By Joy Ubeku (Inside Nollywood With Joy).

Please tell us a little about yourself.

I’m Jessica Owan L., from Cross Rivers State. I graduated from the University of Calabar after completing my secondary schools in Anambra state.

Tell us of your journey into Nollywood.

I started acting in 2010.A friend of mine saw my potential and encouraged me to join the industry, and I’m also a trained thespian.

Some of your movies.

Brave mind, Sins of the past, War in the palace, Tears in the kingdom, Judas’ game, Royal wealth, Royal grace, Bloody carnival, The enemy I see, Onye army, Not my queen, The lamb, and a host of others.

Apart from acting what other things interest you?

I’m into clothes designing and modelling.

Do you feel the economic crunch has hurt the industry?

The economic crunch, which is not only applicable in Nigeria, certainly has affected a lot of business ventures. How do you expect someone who hasn’t been able to put food on the table to go out and buy movies to entertain himself? These are some of the problems the distributors are experiencing. Besides, we have problems in the power sector, meaning there is often no light, and people who even manage to rent film can’t watch them for days. These things have affected sales, yet we’re moving on, because we have no other industry.

Married or single?

Single

If you had the opportunity to change something about the movie industry what would it be?

I will beg for fee increase.

Anything else you want to add?

My last movie this month was with Sky Movie and the story is about a king that had 2 daughters from 2 mothers born the same day, and position of the princess was in question.

Nollywoodgossip wishes you the best.

Thanks for having me.
