TG Bloc

  • TG Bloc is an up-and-coming Nigerian musician based in Italy.
  • We ran into him and had a brief chat about trying to make it in the European country and more.

By Chinelo Onuzulike (News Time With Chinelo).

Please kindly introduce yourself to our readers.

My names are ThankGod Samson O Erhabor, born in South-South but grew up in Lagos. I attended Caleb Nursery and Primary Schools and Ajaiye Crowder, Livingstone Modern College.

How long have you been living in Europe?

Let me say altogether 10 years. I graduated from Abbey Vocational School, Ireland.

Where in Nigeria are you from?

Lagos.

Tell us of your journey into music.

My journey started at a tender age 12. Music for me has a blessing coming from a place where nobody ever expected anything better but failure. Music has given me power and voice.

What are you working on right now?

I’m working on a new song and trust me it’s gonna be a blast. Also my album is almost set to be released.

How is it being a Nigerian musician in Italy?

Over here in Italy, it has not been easy. People always tell me to go back home if I really wanna blow. Artists in Italy don’t get much respect. I thank God I’m still in the game. I believe I will make it someday.

What’s your type of music called?

I do hip hop…let me say afro hip hop.

Are you ever going to perform in Nigeria?

Yeah…I have a couple of shows coming up in Nigeria soon.

Who are your best 5 Nigerian artists?

2Face Idibia, Timaya, Idris, P-Square, and 9ice.

Are you married?

No, I’m single.

Nollywoodgossip wishes you the best.

Thanks very much.

Artists in Italy are not respected because what most of them call music is rubbish. I have listened to their song, their lyrics, beat and mixing is just mediocre at best.
