Why did you decide to celebrate your birthday with widows?

Well as you know, I lost my dad while I was in the big brother house. Since then I’ve been so worried about my mum. But thankfully my siblings are doing well so I know she will never suffer by God’s grace. So I basically listened to God because I always feel the urge to give when I celebrate as opposed to spending like a maniac on parties and booze. So I thought people out there hardly remember widows. So to honour my mums strength and resilience, I decided to celebrate with 67 widows as she turned 67 this year.

What’s Yefon all about?

It’s a movie about women abuse with respect to freedom and education. It’s still going on in the rural parts of Africa. The movie is very deep, very honest, and very thorough, and it’s extremely eye opening and shocking and thought provoking.

What will viewers learn from your character in the film?

Ahhh my character is the evil one in the film…hahaha….I love to play dark characters in movies (as with the one in the cupboard) as opposed to the fine boy lover boy roles that producers and directors wanna cast me for.  For me I’m a nice loving guy in real life. So why would I wanna play same in movies…boring. I guess from my character the biggest lesson learnt will be that evil does not pay and Karma is deadly.

We heard something about building a school in Cameroon?

Yes. The producers want to use this movie to raise awareness and funds to build a school so that the youth of Cameroon can get educated…especially the women.

What’s this much-talked about new way of financing new movies?

It’s a website called kickstarter, this way regular people like you and I who are passionate about the project get to pledge a certain amount of money to help the original producers fund the money. In return there are huge benefits not necessarily monetary but in terms priority in receiving the finished products and credit for funding the movie plus many more.

Anything else you want to add?

Fantastic movie! I was thrilled when the producers informed me that Hakeem kay Kazeem, Kalu Ikeagwu amongst many others would be a part of this. If all goes well. We’ll hit the Oscars! yeeey! So excited and scared at the same time. Lol.

Nollywoodgossip wishes you the best.

Thanks Nollywoodgossip.
