Please tell us a bit about you?

My name is Uche Nancy. I’m a costumier. I have done a lot of costuming works and won so many awards for costumes — both national and international. I have three girls. I love my job, but now also a producer.

Some of the movies you have produced.

I have produced so many films like: Blue blood, Fuiton mansion, The lamb, Thanks for coming, The ladies, Deep water, Hot kingdom, Moving party, Best of enemies, Not my queen, Prisoner of love, Dirty diamond, The models, Gallant babes, and more.

For how long have you been in the film industry?

I have been in the industry for more than 10 years now.

How did it all start?

I started with given out clothes to costumiers to use in costuming their jobs, until God said I should do the costumes too. I did my first job The Coming of the Anti-Christ by Danga movies.

Tell us about your new movie.

The title is Best of Enemies. They have been in a game of chance and gamble before true love of a prince put them in the competitive ring where only one winner will emerge. It’s Jennifer versus Mercy. Actually it’s all about what girls can do because of money. No girl wants to suffer.

Which Nollywood stars are you working with?

I’m using Muna Obiekwe, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Lawrence Lurrenz Onuzulike, Angela Okorie, Oma Nnadi, and many great others.

At what point did you realize you want to become a producer?

When I saw that many men want to sleep with girls before giving them jobs, I knew I had to do something to stop such acts. So I decided to make the girls work without asking anything from them in return.

Is the case of sexual harassments increasing or decreasing in Nollywood?

To me, I think it’s less now.

Are you married?

Yes

What’s more challenging, being a producer or costumier?

Being a producer.

Why is producing more challenging?

The stress of reading all the scripts and knowing which artists that will suite the characters is challenging.

If there is one thing you’ll like to change in Nollywood what will that be?

I’ll change those girls that sleep with men to get job.

How do you plan to achieve that?

I became a woman producer because of them. I give them jobs. I never ask any of them to sleep with anybody before I give them jobs.

Which of your works brought you to the limelight?

As a costumer, World apart and Girls cot, and as producer, Blue blood.

What advice will you give to someone who wants to become a costumier?

I will tell the person to make sure she has a creative mind. Be obedient to your artists. Have a loving mind.

Any words for your fan?

I want them to know that love them all.

Nollywoodgossip wishes you the best.

Thanks for having me.
