Fatima Jabbe, the Gambia/Nollywood actress arrived the Civic center in Lagos in grand style at the first ever Nollywood Movies Award which took place on Saturday the 2nd of June 2012.

The awards event was organized by Dipo Winsala and Alfred Soroh the CEOs of Nollywood Movies sky channel 329 in UK.

The event was hosted by Julius Agwu and Kate Henshaw. Best movie editing, Best Original screen play/scriptwriting and Best make up all went to Mirror Boy written and directed by Obi Emelonye who is also the writer, producer and director of Last Flight to Abuja.

Tango With Me won Best Movie Award. Joseph Benjamin won best actor in a lead role for Tango With Me. Mercy Johnson won best actress in a lead role.

Viewer’s Choice award female went to Genevieve Nnaji while Viewer’s Choice award male went to Ramsey Nouah.

Best director went to Mahmood Ali Balogun.

Nollywood’s screen diva Omotola Jalade Ekeinde aka Omosexy was also present at the award.

Best Actor in an Indigenous Movie (non-English speaking language) – Yinka Quadri (Aye Dudu)

Best Actress in an Indigenous Movie (non-English speaking language) – Funke Akindele (The return of Jenifer)

Best Indigenous Language Movie (non-English speaking language) – Aye Dudu

Best Director- Mahmood Ali Balogun (Tango With me)

Best Original Screenplay/Scriptwriting – Obi Emelonye (Mirror boy)

Best Make-up – Mirror boy (Gabriel Okorie)

Rising Star Award – Sylvia Oluchi (Bent Arrows) & Gabriel Afolayan (Ghetto Dreamz),

Viewer’s Choice Award Male – Ramsey Nouah
