Please kindly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Uche Chris Ndigwe, from Awka in Anambra State. I’m the second in a family of

Tell us of your journey into the entertainment world.

My journey into the movie industry was somehow funny, because I wasn’t prepared. I will say I stumbled into the industry. Actually, my kid sister Chinelo was doing her IT in Enugu at a time when she stumbled on a movie crew. She asked me to bring the script I was writing then. She asked me to come and see if the producer will be willing to look at it and probably buy it at the end of the day. So I went with my script and met with my sister on the lobby of Presidential Hotel. As we were speaking, the production manager of the movie came downstairs and told the cast and crew that they should start entering the bus. On getting to where I and my sister was standing, he asked us to go and enter the bus, but my sister just told him that I was not part of the cast, that I just came around for something else, but the production manager insisted that I should please enter the bus, that the scene they were going to record needs people like me. He said that those that were cast for the scene don’t even fit the scene just that they didn’t have any options. Then my sister just looked at me and said if I don’t mind that I should join them, at least, it will even afford me the opportunity to meet with the producer and discuss more concerning the script I came with. So I entered the bus with them and that was how the journey started. The rest is history.

What was first time on set like?

Well, my first time on set was with mixed feelings. One, I wasn’t that relaxed. Two, I was telling myself that I could not do it. Actually, after the scene, the director and the D.O.P were really impressed. They said they didn’t know I was going to be able to do it. The director then promised me a role in his next job and after then, things started to role in.

Who inspired you into acting?

Actually nobody inspired me into acting. I will give all the glory to God Almighty.

Your first film?

The first film I will say was really nothing to me, because of the way it came. It is what I will call a waka-pass role. Then the second one, I had just two or three scenes which I did so well that earned me another role in the movie called AMINA directed by Ndubisi Okoh.

It’s been ages we saw you last on screen. What’s been happening?

Well you have not been seeing me, because I have not been around and also trying to settle into married life and the challenges that follow after then. But right now I will say I have settled in. So I’m preparing to return in a big way with a bang.

How many films have you done so far?

Honestly, I cannot count how many movies I have featured in. But I know it is in the neighborhood of 50 and 100, including all the waka-pass o.

Which was the film that brought you to the limelight?

The movie that brought me to limelight, that people can’t seem to forget as if that is the only movie I have done, is GOD WHERE ARE YOU, by AMACO INVESTMENT. After that movie God opened the way for other movies to follow and I give God back all the glory.

What are you working on currently?

Right now, we are preparing to make a blockbuster movie, a story that has never been told before. I’m so excited about it. We are taking our time to package it well. By God’s special grace, we shall be hitting location anytime from now.

Which was your most challenging role?

Every story comes with its own challenges. So I wouldn’t say categorically that this movie or that movie had the most challenge.

What is the craziest thing a fan has ever done to you?

There is nothing a fan will do to me that I will say is crazy, honestly speaking. I accept every fan the way they choose to express their feelings.

What do you think of the entertainment industry compared to when you first started?

The movie industry has really stepped up. I know you’ll agree with me. The kinds of people that are involved right now know what’s up.

Apart from acting, what else are you into?

By God’s grace, I do some other things by the side to make ends meets. When I’m not on set I am into properties, politics and printing (3PS).

What have you benefited as an actor?

I have benefitted a lot as an actor ooo, ah. The kind of favors I get anywhere I go just make me give God praise all the time. E no easy ooo.

What do you think of the nudity and pornography rocking Nollywood?

I have no comment ooo. Everybody has different upbringing. If you think of your family name, you will not want to soil it, because of money you will get for going nude. I will just say it’s not our culture.

When did you get married?

I got married 2009 February 7th, on my birthday.

Anything you want to add?

What you have asked, I have answered, I’m not adding to what you did not ask.

Your advice to fans and youths out there

My advice to my fans is that they should take one step at a time. And to the youth of this great country, put God first in all you do and every other thing will be added unto them. PEACE.

Nollywoodgossip wish you the best.

Thanks very much.
